This year I’m the PTO President at the school, I never realized how hard that job is. It’s like having a full time job but without the pay :D
My first event was Grandparent’s Day in September, Aunt Debbie and Grandma Scarbro were able to come and enjoy some time with Isaiah and Roo. The kids loved showing them their class room and taking them to book fair : )
I just wrapped up another event-Red Ribbon Week where every day the kids had a “theme” for each day of the week. We kicked off the week with an Assembly where Bill Sanders came and spoke to the kids.
On Wednesday we planted trees each child placed a scoop of dirt or peat in with the tree. As they did this it was their pledge to be drug free.
The little kids were so cute I would go through my little talk with each class and the older ones knew why we were doing it. The little kids answers to “Do you know why we are planting the trees?” were all over the place. I heard “to be green”, “to be helpful”, “to make school pretty”, and etc : )
The kids also decorated their doors for Red Ribbon week, then Shirley and me had to walk around and pick a winner. I had to finally just ask can we have a grand winner for the DQ party, but then can the PTO buy for the rest of the kids :D. It was too hard to decide and they all worked so hard on the doors and with the trees. A few examples:

PTO President? Girl, have you lost your mind????????????
I was the volunteer coordinator for two elementary schools the SAME year, and yeah, I knew by the end of the year that I needed to be committed to the loony bin.
If you need any help, I'll be waiting with the straitjacket. LOL
Yes, she has...... :) Love, Mom
