A frightful week

On Tuesday, JD called to see if I had made it back from church and if I knew about the pending storm.  I started securing everything down outside and putting away our deck items.

I then got a call from the school saying they would be holding the kids due to the Tornado warning we were under, until the Sheriff’s office gave the ok.  I know some parents made their way down and had to take Tornado safety precautions with the kids.  I knew they would be safe in the school and the way the rain hit was glad I didn’t try to make my way down.

In the mean time JD was trying to make his way home, his boss had given them the option to leave or go into the staircase.  JD decided to make his way home and about 30 mins into the trip the storm caught up with him.

I wish the pictures could show you the craziness of wind and the heavy down pours of the rain, I didn’t think to video it until afterwards :D

It moved through fast and I then got a call letting me know I could go pick the kids up.  Roo’s eyes were so big as she made her way down the hall seems they had them in the tornado position for awhile and she didn’t understand it all :D.  Isaiah wanted to know why I didn’t come sooner but I told him I knew he was safer there than me trying to get him home in it.

The frightful week wrapped up with Trick or Treat, gone are the cute dress up days with Roo.  As many of you know this is not my favorite holiday, I don’t like to be scared.  I do take the kids trick or treating and on the way home this year they asked questions on why some churches chose not to celebrate while others find its ok.

As many of you know I also try to dress them with out the skulls and such but I lost this year. They went to dad : p
