Fan Favorite Scarf Pattern

The previous pattern went more into detail about double knitting, it was too much detail. So I'm sharing this more simpler version of the pattern. If you haven't tried double knitting before Amy on Knitting help has a video.

To make your favorite team's logo here are two options you may print out your own graph paper and chart it out (my personal favorite way I find it easier to make changes) or KnitPro where you upload an image and it will chart it for you.

This are the directions I followed for my scarves. The WV scarf is missing the bottom borders.

Yarn for Red/Black combo:
Plymouth Galaway Worsted - 2skeins of each color

Yarn for Navy/Gold combo:
Patons Classic Merino Wool-2skeins of each color

CO 25 sts with both yarns with size 6 US needle

Work 3 rows of Garter to give it a bottom border

Begin the Double knitting keeping the 3 edge sts on both sides in garter

Work 13 Rows and then begin a stripe

Work the stripe for 6 Rows

Work 4 Rows before starting chart

Work Chart as usual (bottom to top of chart)

Work 4 Rows before starting stripe

Work stripe for 6 rows

Continue in the double knitting till the scarf is almost the length you want

Work stripe for 6 rows

Work 4 rows

Work chart in the opposite manner (top to bottom)

Work 4 Rows

Work stripe for 6 rows

Work 13 Rows evenly

Work 3 rows in garter

Bind off

Weave in ends, block, and enjoy

My Tips for double knitting:
I usually do color work with both hands, but foud it easier to carry both in my left and work the norweigan purl
While working the Norweigan purl remember to go under both yarns
For most charts it will be mirror imaged (unless it is a snowflake, heart, etc) to make the chart work on both sides you gotta remember that one row of the chart is really 2 and keep in mind how the other side should look.
This meant carrying my yarns, I found it worked better if I catched my floats.

Pattern is meant for gifts or charities. Please do not make a profit off my scarf pattern. : )

Thank you

Thanks for the pattern! You said that a previous pattern had "too much detail" about double knitting. I'd like to see that pattern, but I can't find it. I need to learn more about double knitting. Can you help me find it?
Thanks! MeezieMom
