A nice fall day

Lately we have been having some gloomy fall days and some have been colder than what they should be. However, yesterday we were given a beautiful day with sun and warmth (as long as you wore a jacket and stayed out of the shade). The Amish buggies were outside the Amish store we buy the grain for the cows.


We first visited a house up the road from us the stories I have heard is that the guy bought the house with the intentions to fix it up but was spooked by the haunting and never finished. Now there is a project to fix this house up, yesterday they had a craft fair to help in the efforts. I'm not sure what the haunting is suppose to be...I don't really get into all that like JD does : )


Inside there were a lot of different built in cabinets that were so pretty. I was surprised to see most of the walls gone but happy to see they are trying to keep the woodwork


These were not the main stairs so I'm thinking they went off from the kitchen, in this room looked to me like a plate cabinet or pie cabinet.


I'm thinking the 2 entrances to this room must mean it was the dinning room it then entered the room with the stairs above. It also had a fire place, if I remember correctly there were 4 or 5 fire places in the house, with the old tile still up.


this fire place was in the room going to the right from the entrance above. I hope they have open house again. I used my phone camera and should have taken my better camera in. I love places like this and wish I could have seen it way back when, I bet it was something. If I had the money this is what I would love to do buy up ol' places and fix them up, my head is swimming in ideas for this place. : )


We then came home and started burning some of our boxes, up here with the trash you can only have 3 bags.


The whole time we were down there watching the fire, the cows stood in this spot mooing, they wanted JD to feed them. The blue tub in the field is suppose to be their water container but they roll it with their heads all over the pastures.


The cats also enjoyed the nice temps and the little kittens joined in on the fun.

Today we are back to being chilly and dreary but that's ok got some chilli soup on :)
