Black Apples

I feel like I've been busy lately but don't really have a lot to show for it, is that possible? Some of these pictures were taken by my phone so the quality is not super, I'm enjoying having a phone to catch things I wanna catch but don't have my camera handy : ) The picture above is almost a daily thing trying to get back to the house. I'm to scared to pass them but they do slow ya down.

Last week it turned cold here to the point that I thought Roo might be right, we might see snow. We didn't just a little sleet mixed in with the rain. She was all dressed in her best coat and requesting mittens to match. Isaiah is back on the no, your not taking my picture...

I haven't joined very many swaps lately 'cause I never get anything back...but I thought maybe this time it would be different. You gotta make a mini sock, Roo swiped this one though. Gotta make another : )

Friday evening we got a visit from an Amish fella who wanted to know if our black apples were ready. I didn't know we had black apples, I thought we had rotten apples. He then went on to tell me how rare they were and made wonderful pies and cider.

Sunday when JD came home from the WVU game and midnight madness, we picked the rest of these black apples. : )

This past weekend we also got our first delivery of wood, I threw in a small tip to the two Amish boys that brought it out...the little boy that did all the talking didn't seem much older than Isaiah. After getting the tip he kept saying "now if you need more wood, we got it, you just call us, ok? you call us?" : )

This weekend we also got a fall decoration up with the help of Roo and JD. I needed to JD to carry the hay that I found out of the barn...Roo put her decorating skills to the test (she took this very serious, notice the wood in front she thought this added something wonderful to it)

JD also started cutting up the fallen trees in our woods : )

Yesterday was such a nice day.

Although it brought on the invasion of the dreaded October beetles! At the old house we had a few but nothing to worry about, here the house was so covered it looked like it was moving. The picture was taken after the sun had stopped hitting that side of the house so many had moved on. I called JD's aunt and our n'bor to see what could be done. They both said they same thing they are cutting the corn and this is what happens...our n'bor told us not to spray or they will leave a trail that will stain walls/siding. We set off bug bombs last night as we went to football practice and come home to a beetle burial field. I've been told this will continue till it gets cold and it's part of living out here lol.

I took this picture yesterday it's part of our woods, so pretty and quiet down there.

The cows stick to where you are the whole time, and as we headed back to the house this cow got behind me and kinda ran me up to the barn.

Yesterday was picture day at school : )

Knitting wise I did finish the scarf I last blogged about and now working on an afghan. : )
