Watching the Olympics of course!! I have always been a big fan of the winter Olympics but didn’t start watching the summer ones really till 2000. Each year my obsession seems to grow and grow and grow, this year I brought JD down that slope of sleepless nights with me.
My daily routine was working the house chores around the morning edition of Olympics, joining JD on the couch at 8 to watch the nightly edition and then staying up till 12, 12:30, 1 and even 1:30. We have watched it all and I’ve loved every minute of it even the tivo caught some shows that we couldn’t.

I finally had to turn in early last Friday my body just had enough and hit me with a very bad headache but JD stayed up and recorded it for me lol, then last night we had to turn it off and go to bed earlier than the norm as I told JD I’m so tired I could just sit down and cry lol.
I don’t know what I’ll do after the Olympics are over, maybe get caught up on the housework that has fell to the side.

This morning Isaiah started back to school and he was excited, nervous, and sad wrapped into one. We attended open house last night and meet with his teacher who seems really nice. Isaiah was disappointed that his friend wasn’t in his class this year but they did see one another at recess and on the bus. I told them see now you really don’t want to get in trouble, cause if you have to stand on the wall during recess then you won’t see each other. They came back with yeah but if we do get in trouble then we can stand together…umm NO ‘cause then when you get home you won’t see each other and you will be in T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

Roo seemed to enjoy her day we baked TONS of cookies and these new cinnamon/choc twist things. When I told her it was time to get Isaiah she let out a huge sigh and said ALREADY??? I took her to the library this morning and she got a couple of books and signed up for their Wed morning reading class.

We did get JD’s car checked out and they couldn’t find the problem so now he is driving it till it happens on a daily basis *sigh* I’m hoping that will be awhile. Bella Bell has been worrying me this week even though when I call the vet they tell me not to, I’m going to call them again in the morning ‘cause she started throwing up this afternoon.

Knitting wise I finally finished my Smackdown socks and they are on their way and I finished my ravelympics Mittens YAY!! Now I have 2 more items to finish before the Olympics end HA! You would think since I’m watching the Olympics I would get a lot of knitting done, but I’ve found out you can’t really watch the Olympics and knit. As far as dishrags umm only 6 finished. However, mom (who didn’t want to join) finished all 3 of her projects!!

One Knitty had picked up the new Vogue for me; I had told her that I couldn’t wait for it to come out so I could knit the Snowbird mittens. She was out and spotted it and picked it up for me, I think before it was even suppose to hit newsstands! I got it from her last night at Open House and love the mitten patterns in there. Of course I have several other things to finish before I should start them *wink*
Other than that I think that’s about it, oh and I’ve decided to learn how to work a drop spindle. Mom and Linda go to this knitting/spinning weekend every spring and I want to go this year. I want to be able to use the drop spindle there and look like I know a little bit of what I’m doing. Which doesn’t leave me much time; I’ll see mom in Sept and then a very fast trip in Oct…but really not again till Dec. So I searched etsy for a drop spindle and found one for 5.00 +2.00 s/h. Awesome!! Well did I read anything else? Umm of course not it was 7.00 and it came fast but it’s tiny.

It’s only 6” and I’m sure it’s an awesome spindle that others can just make spin like crazy on but I’m having a rough go at it. They even started me with some fiber but I broke it off, it’s just not the best for this beginner (nothing at all on their part). Anyways mom and me had a good laugh about it lol and hopefully in Sept. she can figure it out, so I can : )
I hope you all have a great day of knitting : )

I've been busy too but not finding much time to watch the Olympics!
Can hardly believe school's starting already!!
And I love your mittens!!!
Thank you!!
I know it seems like it starts earlier every year! : )
Glad to see the kids (furry and non furry) are looking well. Back to school time is always a little emotional for everyone.
Aren't those mittens in Vogue just beautiful! Some are little too complicated for me, but I love to look at them. Enjoy the magazine.
Thank you!! I think you should give the mittens a try...you can do them!! : )
