The Olympics are coming up this week and I’m one who loves to watch as much as I can. This year I will also be trying to knit as much as I can, I have joined Ravelympics, Olympic Dishrag KAL on KH, the Olympic Yarnsmackdown for advanced socks, and I think that’s it lol.
For the Ravelympics I’m going to be making the Twisted Flower sock, EZ’s mittens from Knitter’s Almanac, and going to try and design JD a pair of WV mittens to match his scarf. I also started a Team WV so have been checking everyone’s tags that join to make sure they are joined and keeping them updated with changes. Right now you start with Beijing so that is 8am for me on the 8th of Aug.
The Olympic Dishrag KAL is to try and get a dishrag done everyday the games are going on (we will see how well this goes for me lol). We even have a designed dishrag by one of KH’s members for the games, YAY!
The Smackdown is kinda like Sockwars, I have to print off the pattern on the 8th and try to get my pair in the mail before I receive a pair in the mail. : )
Other than that I’ve been working on a test knit and the Bird in Hand mitten. This week I should be able to finish the mitten up. Then I’m going to start an easy sock pattern before everything goes crazy on the 8th.
On Friday, Isaiah had a friend stay the night and they had a really good time, JD tried to wear them out by playing freeze tag. Yesterday we went out to get JD set up for the week. He also had to take Yeager to the Veterinarian, this is where he will be staying this coming week and will also be fixed, poor little guy.
I’ll be without internet for a week while visiting my parents, so I hope you all have a great week of knitting : )

Just letting you guys know, we have had a great week. Dustina will be going home on Sunday. The kids have been great. Dustina and I have been up knitting until Midnight several nights. She got me started on another pair of socks. My third on needles. lol She whips them socks out like crazy. We also had fun dyeing some yarn. Sock yarn too. lol You gals have a great day.
