I finished another pair of socks woohoo! I love this pattern it’s so pretty and I was really excited knitting it up in this yarn. The pattern went really well with it. I finished the socks last night and tried them on, when what do I see?
Can you tell they don’t match? Now I know this can happen if you buy 2 skeins of sock yarn and you don’t get the same dye lot, but I didn’t think it could happen with 1 skein. I was very upset, all the time I had put in these socks, and I had thought these could be my fair entry socks.
I e-mailed the company, SWTC, and they were very sorry for my knitting heartbreak and they were also very fast in returning my e-mail. This was just a rare mishap and could have been one of the tied in knots went to two different lots. They asked if they could send me yarn and I felt so bad, I didn’t write them for yarn lol. I just wanted to let the know of this in case I could help another knitter down the road, so after hearing from JD, mom, and brendajos to take the yarn…I replied back that I would lol.
I really like the fact that they took the time to reply back and it wasn’t a hasty reply either. I know some companies take days, weeks, months, and some never return your e-mail so I’m very pleased and would buy their yarn again, knowing what great customer care they have. Don't get me wrong though, I'm still bummed about my socks, but what can ya do? : )
Now for the other knitting mishap lol, mom signed us both up for the Sockamania sock club. You get a skein of yarn that is hand dyed and the pattern before it’s released on the Sockamania blog. I was really looking forward to getting that and knowing the pattern before the others! Which is prolly why when I received my pkg it did contain the prettiest and softest yarn, a bag to keep your project in, but NO pattern lol. Anni is on holiday (read on her blog) so I will have to wait I guess and get it with everyone else LOL.
As far as knitting goes right now I want to try and finish up my Bird in Hand mitten that has been on the needle since Dec.I’ve also been informed by other knitters that sometimes you can get 3 socks out of the Tofutsies, so I may try that pattern again and see what I come up with. I might not have enough but I don’t have anything to lose by giving it another try.

wow! those don't even look like the same colorway. The pattern is very pretty though... so sad that happened. :-( Are you going to do the pattern again?

I was on the phone with her when she finished and was so excited she had finally finished. She started saying oh no, oh no. I'm 3 1/2 half hours away wondering what's happening. She went into the computer room and I heard her ask JD something about the socks. I kept saying what's wrong. My Socks! They are different colors! I thought she was going to cry. she kept asking JD, they are different aren't they, or is it my eyes. I heard him say, Nope, different colors, babe. Course me being on the phone I couldn't see. lol She was upset, but by the end of the phone conversation she was laughing. I told her to e-mail the company and let them know what happen. Which I'm glad to say they answered her right back. She worked some on the first one while she was home, it is really a beautiful sock.
They are sure pretty even if they don't match.
I'm so jealous....Sockamania Sock Club. I know I love the yarn I won. Um, I might have to consider that but I already have so much sock yarn that I want to use...if only I could knit faster. :(
bummer about the sock yarn, but you did a great job on the pattern and I think it just adds a fun little unique quality to them.

Very sad to hear to about your sock mishap, but it's nice to hear the company felt your pain as well.
