School is almost out!

Isaiah came in on Thursday, saying “mommy, only 18 more days” can I just say YAY!! I’m not one of those who dread to see the school year come to an end, and I’m not one of those that can’t wait for it to start again…I like to have him home.

He already has the first part of his summer planned out as well. They will have VBS right after school lets out and he is taking a friend with him, and then he will go straight into basketball camp. Last year we headed straight to WV but with gas prices and him wanting to do those 2 things we decided to combine the June trip with the July trip. He is really looking forward to doing all these things.

Roo is also excited for VBS and then her camp will start after we return from WV, she will be going to little princess dance camp. Of course now all I hear is tomorrow? When? Lol

Last year mom and I started a summer knit-a-long it was the Civil War shawl, which neither of us have finished. You might think well this year’s KAL would be finishing it but it’s not lol that would be to easy…to boring…so we decided on the Swirl shawl. The best place I have seen to buy it is here, they sell it in a kit and the pattern is free along with a bag to keep it in. You get it cheaper than just buying the yarn on most sites and then would still have to buy the pattern. They are also very fast. This is my kit and I want to start and finish at least one so I know what I’m doing before I hit WV. Also I’m not sure how my size 6 option dpns will do with this…so I might have to re-think that.

In other knitting news I finished Roo’s top woohoo! I wasn’t sure about re-sizing this to fit a 4 yr old since the original was for a baby. I decided the best way to do it was to get gauge on a thicker yarn so then I wouldn’t have to change the CO #s or charts. It still needs to be blocked and as you can tell I still have some ends to weave in, but finally it’s done!

Pattern: Glockenblume
Yarn: Elann.com Esprit
Needle: 6 (and I made it on 2circs this way I could try it on her, at any time.
2nd Cast on: 4/4/08
Finished: 5/4/08

As far as the new SKP sock well it isn’t going right now…I couldn’t get the pattern to work out at all. 1to1 is also working on it and she sent me her modifications so I’m hoping to work on it tonight or tomorrow. Thank you!!

I also did join the Sock Wars lol and I’m hoping the lady who finished her SKP socks under 10hrs doesn’t have my name first lol…2nd might not be to bad ‘cause really how many pairs of socks do I want to knit in this thing? I just want to be able to wear a Sock Warriors Shirt LOL….

Congrats to the finishers of the SKP they all did it in amazing times! : )

I hope you all have a great day of knitting : )

Oh to be in school again, and getting out for the summer. Lucky little children.

I think that was a good deal for the shawl, when you consider the yarn cost.

Roo's top came out cute. Nice job!
