For Cancer is so Limited...

For cancer is so limited -

It cannot cripple love,

It cannot shatter hope,

It cannot corrode faith,

It cannot destroy peace,

It cannot kill friendship,

It cannot suppress memories,

It cannot silence courage,

It cannot invade the soul,

It cannot steal God's gift of eternal life,

It cannot quench the Holy Spirit,

It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection.

Today my mom’s best friend found out that she has cancer. We had found out last week that there was a possibility but were hoping it wasn’t. On Friday she will have an operation to remove her lymph nodes and see if it has spread. She is also having trouble breathing and for now there isn’t anything they can do to help that. It’s wrapped there and they can’t go in so hoping that chemo and radiation will shrink it. She is such a sweet, funny, and caring person, she puts everyone first and then herself. She is a knitter, spinner, quilter, and a woman of very many talents. She is also a fighter who is ready to go to battle with the Lord by her side.

I’m supposed to teach her how to knit with magic loop and knit backwards this summer, she told mom no matter what I was. I’m ready!!

I found the poems on this site when looking for Encouraging prayers…and then the other is one of my all time favorites. I have a ring that has the” that’s when I carried you” in it…I lean on the Lord often and that poem just says it right.

So if you don’t mind please say a prayer for my mom’s friend and her family during this difficult time. Thank you : )

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. when the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
