Yesterday was the kids first day off from school for their break. Roo had been counting down the days. I had jokingly gave them the option to take off those 3 days since they don’t miss but Isaiah said he couldn’t ‘cause he has to get the perfect attendance award at the end of the year, Roo replied with a ok I’ll stay home. :D
We started the morning with a dentist appointment, I hate to take them out of school for appointments and try my best to schedule them during breaks. Isaiah will go back all by himself but not Roo. She feels like I do about dentist offices.
We then made our way to the Autumn Healthcare to hand out our stockings.
This is how our living room looked the night before.
The assembly of cards (Thank you all again for all your help!! We ended up with 463 cards)
All the stockings got cards but then we decided to make bundles for the others in the home that were not in the Althezimer’s Unit
The stockings got a few goodies
I didn’t feel right taking pictures in there while visiting…it was so sad. I did snap this picture in the dinning room with my phone. The kids moved though right when the phone snapped the picture.
Roo and Isaiah both told me they were happy to make their Christmas a little better but it was really sad to see them in there.
Thank you all again for your help in this project. We couldn’t have done it with out you all! Thank you to South Lawn Elementary, Mrs. Larrison’s first grade class, family & friends who signed, the Unger’s, Linda (Jackie’s mom), those who donated the stockings last year (we had 30 left over), Deb, and Autumn Healthcare!
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New year!!
