Until last spring when it came dance recital time, and I had to figure out a way to make her hair look good. Jackie had told me she would just come down and do her hair (she had done it for me in the past giving Roo the hip hunch pony tail all the girls were sporting) but I hated for her to have to do that, since she also had her daughter's hair to do.
I told her I would give it a go and if it didn't work then I would call her, she gave me some info on what I needed like clear bands, hair pieces, bands that match Roo's hair color, and hair spray. She was in shock that I didn't own a can of hair spray so she even told me what type to get to hold up for all the dancing around.
About that time Julie had posted about this website: The Story of a Princess and her hair. I wasn't sure I could do any of those styles they were so advanced compared to what I do.
Roo and me worked on the hair style the week before so that way come recital day I would have it down. We went with this hair style and it turned out pretty good.

So after that I continued to follow the blog and we tried more and more of her hair styles. To the point that Roo actually wants to see what is next on the blog.
The other day when we looked there was a contest for sidewinders (I had no clue what these were) but they looked cool! I did the requirements for the contest and yesterday they announced the winners.
We won with this post:

Favorite Color would be Hot Pink : )
I was excited 'cause I usually don't win things like this and Roo was excited 'cause she wants me to figure out how to put it in her hair.
Pictures to come when we get it in the mail :D

Oh, I am envious of you! My daughter and I got in knock-down, drag-out fights over her hair. I finally quit fixing it when she was in first grade. Congrats on the win!!
oh, me too, i m full of envious of Roo's beautiful hairdo.
I let Jayne cut off her waist long hair which she has been keepiing cos of the warm weather lately.
She now has the Bob hairstyle, till 1" above the collar (which is the rule of the school - no hair length excceed the collar if not tied it up)
I can't "play" with her hair anymore....sob sob
I wonder how long it will last, Roo is asking if she can get it cut after the recital this year. I don't want her to though lol
