A day to stay home, not having to go anywhere, just clean and then do whatever...
I of course drug out my mitten that hadn't got much time since my last post. As you can see I have managed to get one more row done and 2 fingers, where does the time go? Used to be I could have whipped this pair out over several days, not weeks.

I did decide to turn the mittens into semi-gloves (not sure if that is the correct term) but then I had to decide what to put on the finger. I didn't want just brown or pink, I did consider maybe stripes to tie in the cuff and thumb, or a small argyle pattern.
So I went to my best friend and asked for help, 'cause this person knows I will just drive myself crazy trying to get it just so...to calm my OCD within and he said argyle. So I charted out my little argyle (hopefully after a blocking it will look more like argyle) : P

One great thing about being out here is we have no water bill and we have no gas heat bill, but we do have to carry our wood.

The kids love it when I announce that is time to re-fill the wood bin in the laundry room.

Of course they do get side tracked very easily

Yesterday was Burns Day and we tried to track down some black pudding and haggis we did find a site that would ship it, but the cost of shipping was more than the pudding (and they were sold out). So I know this is not really considered Scottish but its all I could think of, and I had never made it before (cabbage). Thank you to Google I found a website that broke it all down for me.

I also fixed a pot of corn beef hash for those who don't like cabbage at all. Which is all of us but JD : )
Hopefully I will get this glove done by the weekend so I can start the match.

Oh, Dustina, you remind me so much of myself when my children were younger (and even now). How I relished our "hurricane days." Ahhh...being home and able to do whatever you want without the interruptions of school car loop pickup/dropoff, etc.
BTW, the hash looks yummy! Of course, the only thing I've eaten in two days is soggy oatmeal and soup (courtesy of my tooth extractions). My mouth is watering!
since I'm listening to a recorded lecture I didn't read your blog post but I had to tell you that I loved the picture of those mittens turned to gloves, so pretty!
The mittens are looking so cute! keep it up girl. And I'll pass on the conr beef hash. You can have my share :)
