Celebrating Christmas

We are still working on left overs from Thanksgiving ok so maybe the 17lb turkey was too big for us. So on Saturday it was nice to go to the local Fire Department for their chili supper. Isaiah enjoyed the chili and Roo enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwiches, of course they also had yummy pies. I know it looks like we are just eating Wendy's chili but that was just donated to the station to hold the chili they fixed us. We were told the local the school fixed the chili...

The little town we are now in also has an ol' fashioned Christmas and we went to it last night.

The school had the older kids sing Christmas Carols

Pastor Tim spoke about the meaning of the season

They then had an honorary candle lighter who got it started

The candles didn't want to stay lit long with the wind and drizzle of rain

They then sang "Silent Night" and the tree was then lit

We could hear the fire trucks with their sirens and found a place on the sidewalk, we later realized we should have been up closer as where we stood was the end.

They let Santa off who then went to the gazebo.

A nice start to the holiday season : )
