This morning we headed out to the Elementary school that the kids will be attending. Roo had to meet with her teacher and have her evaluation, and she did very well. She dressed up in one of her school outfits, cause to her it was like a school day and had to wear the red shoes with her outfit lol.

Even though I was proud of her scoring so high and meaning she is all set to go to school, she still looked awful small to me...where did the time go!

We also found out who Isaiah's teacher would be and we got to walk around the school a bit, it is larger than the school that he left. He seemed excited and nervous : )

We then returned home the kids wanted to go for a swim. When I went to step out on the deck I was met with cats, who thought it must be time for dinner. They quickly realized it wasn't and went into hiding from

The kids enjoyed a swim and they tried to get Isaiah's boat to float. Haley also joined them in the pool. We spent the rest of the day outside till it was football time.
I have been working on my flower beds and boy what a job it has been. We really haven't had the time this summer that the beds needed. I have 3 or 4 separate beds but then flower beds around the whole house. I'm not a flower girl, I love them when JD gives them to me...but I really don't know much about flowers. Which is odd since my mom and others in my family always have flowers. This kinda worried me when we bought the house if I would be able to keep them going...time will tell : )

I had our n'bor help me over the weekend 'cause I couldn't tell what was a weed or flower. I did find out that a few I was growing were weeds, oops! I also found out that I hate nettles. I've always known that I don't like them 'cause they hurt and make me itch...but they have taken over the beds. That is a pile of nettles and weeds from today, I have finally made it to the front of the house.

Here is the nettle up close, I would have to cut it down far enough to grab the rest of the stem, or the nettles would go through my gloves. The flower beds better be thankful that they survived and were not cut down with the lawn mower (like the side bed, oops) : )

It even got to the point today that the cats were coming to see what I was doing, they looked at me like I was doing it wrong : )

I'm now stuck with another problem in the front flower bed and I hate to keep bothering my n'bor,so if anyone out there has ideas please comment lol. These yellow flowers started out very pretty and were standing tall and straight, but now have fallen over

Here you can see them bent

the problem is the flowers under them are dying and not doing well at all...so are the yellow flowers weeds? need to be cut back? tied up? help?

ok and another issue is some of the flower bushes have died like this one...do I cut it? leave it alone? pull it up? help?
I really should have paid more attention growing up when mom was in the flower beds or quilting...or sewing...*sigh*
