The rest of day was staying busy around the house, JD's birthday is today and although he would like to just skip it, we can't allow that. The kids made him cards, I made him his favorite dinner, and then together we made him a cake. I love my mixer, all I have to do is pour stuff in and it does the work for me!

Roo added the oil

Isaiah added the eggs, as you can see in the previous post he lost one lol...

Then I added the icing and then I found some candy and decided to use it on the cake, but I didn't have enough for it to say "We Love you"...I think he enjoyed it :)

I've been working on a lace shawl the pattern is by Plymouth and it's the Ostrich Plume Shawl. I love the yarn that I'm using it is soooo soft and yummy on the hands, it doesn't cut into my index finger like some lace yarns do, it's Plymouth Alpaca Lace (no it's not a test knit for Plymouth lol)

I also drug this out to show you guys that I can do more than knit lol. Ok so the last time this seen day light was well before Roo was born...but since I discovered it again the other day, I'm thinking about working on it some more.

Here is a close up of the hexagons...I also stitched birthday/names/events on it...so now I gotta find Roo a hexagon and add on there.

Also, Roo wants me to make her the Twirly Skirt (this what happens when I let her browse Ravelry with me) anyways her color choices are above...but I'm not sure. I think the beige might need to go and add another color in?
Kallie's felted bag is drying as we speak so hopefully tomorrow I can get the handles on it, her birthday is Saturday. I kinda forgot about the felting (oops)
I hope you all have a wonderful day of knitting : )

Happy Birthday to JD, hugs !
Hi-5! Thats what Jayne is too. Look like Roo know what she wants, great colour for little girl, waiting to see her wearing mummy's hand knit skirt.
Cute cake! How about a soft yellow instead of beige?
Happy Birthday, J.D. ! Ya gotta have them......the alternative leaves the rest of us missing you !
I love the hexagon work......I know it gets tedious, but the finished product is SO INTERESTING......and, yes, I caught a glimpse of that famous Elvis fabric !
That skirt looks almost just like the fabric one I found at the junk store yesterday. It has a drawstring waist, so I can make some for Zoe and not worry about exact size ! Gotta love that. I ran across a pattern for a knitted jumper dress for her, but I'm afraid she'd come in with a big pull in it, and Kelley wouldn't know how to handle it.
I think a soft limey green would be pretty added in with those skirt colors !
Thank you guys : )
