Of course Roo was very happy to put on the goalie jersey for her very last soccer game. She told the coach that she was "retiring" and he would have to replace her : )

Isaiah isn't as excited to see it end, he really enjoyed playing and can't wait for the fall session to begin.

We also have all the flowers and trees in bloom, it's so pretty this time of year. I'm not sure what these are but they smell so sweet and have ants on them all the time.

The kids went out to the field and picked some flowers for the table

We also did some yard work and Roo helped Mr. Gehrke pick up the dead grass.

We also decided to fire up the grill for the first time this season...

here are the hamburgers and potatoes cooking.

The kids shucked the corn for me and they did a great job.

Here is what our plates looked like, although Isaiah also had a hot dog...and Roo only had a hot dog : )

After wards we brought out the watermelon which is what Roo had been waiting for all day.

After dinner I found a frog and the kids had fun diddling with it for awhile, we did let it go though

Isaiah is at the age where he wanted to know more about Memorial Day and JD explained it to him. The cats spent the whole weekend trying to break out, and Bella did...she was caught though : ) The bunnies enjoyed the field along with 2 woodpeckers that were fighting over one tree...the raccoon or opossum enjoyed breaking into our trash cans in the garage and eating the rest of the Easter candy that I decided no one was going to finish and had tossed out...
Now we only have 2 more days of school...2 more weeks of dance class...and then we can enjoy the summer peacefully, till football camp starts.
I even got some knitting time in so all in all it was a wonderful weekend

That flower looks like the peonies we had growing up except ours were hot pink. They always had ants in them too. I loved them but the ants creeped me out. :-)
Sounds like a great weekend. I spent most of mine cleaning and packing. Well... that's not entirely true. I spent most of mine piddling around and then went on cleaning and packing surges for a couple of hours a night. With as much as I got done during those times, I can only imagine what I would have gotten done if I had worked longer...lol.
What a way to end a season !
Loved the BBQ, and are those home grown corns ?? We love, esp. the big type with yellow and white corns. They are sooo sweet.
Brendajos~we have pink ones too...Mrs. Gehrke always asks if I cut some for the house and I always say no lol...I don't care for the ants. Did you decide against the movers or still bubble wrapping the breakables? : )
Jackie~We didn't grow them but they are local...it's Sweet corn : )
You made me hungry this morning. Everything looks so good. Hard to believe the kids ate hotdogs. lol I can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks. Mom
That shrug looks great on you.....wish I had one for my sleeveless dresses I'm wearing to Church ! Is it a bought pattern? I think I've forgotten everything I knew about knitting !
Roo is beautiful ! You can't get away with that nickname too much longer, I bet......she's gonna be a heartbreaker, Miss Ruth !
Oh, and I love the new polkadot format of your blog !
Thank you : )
