Operation: 850 Stockings and Cards

This week I have been so busy and my free time has went to figuring out card count, where everyone is, and knitting stockings.

I had wrote about our goal of 850 knitting stocking here and as of right now we have 380 Stockings finished.

Above is my picture of stockings when my count was at 22, now I have 30 done… Mom finished up 9 crochet stockings yesterday and for the VacShak we have 3 finished. Thanks everyone!!

On Friday I went to the VacShak and we worked on some stockings. Bobbie and Jeanette (oh I hope I spelled her name right if not lmk) both got one done and started their 2nd ones, I finished up 2 more.

They also signed some cards for me and so did the Quilters, Thank you!

Let me go back a bit and fill you in on the cards, I had mentioned to a friend what I was knitting on and how I wish we had cards for them to know that we hadn’t forgotten. I was thinking no way could we do 850 cards, well that night my friend surprised me and bought 280 cards and said why not?

This began our Card Operation we then got in touch with the school, told others what we were doing, and before you knew it this was going to happen. Mom went out and bought 340 cards, JD’s aunt went out and got us 60 cards, Jackie went out and bought more cards, and it just kept growing. Then we had people saying well I can’t knit but I can donate candy to stuff them or does she need donations to get the box to our troops. What can we do to help? It was becoming amazing.

Here are some of the cards that were signed on Thursday at Roo’s dance class, her teacher told me I have over 300 students if you can get the cards we can get the sigs, YES! As soon as mom’s cards come in I’m taking them down there.

Here are 96 cards that were donated (along with Bella)-2 of those boxes have now been filled. The other boxes will go to church on Wed. with the kids.

We are hoping to have everything work out and get into the school on Tuesday and have the two 2nd and 6th grade classes sign cards for us. Thanks to a friend on KH who over-nighted me her stockings they will also have enough to stuff for us. If we can’t get everything finalized by this Tuesday then it will be on the 18th.

You can really tell that God has stepped in here and has hand his hand in this, it’s really been amazing.

Anyways that is what I’ve been into this week along with things for the kids. On Friday was Pastries with the parents at Isaiah’s school. It was also book fair and how cool is it that he picked out 2 books there (the new Magic Tree House books) for his b-day gift?

As far as Christmas knitting goes it hasn’t been happening, if I sit down and try to work on something I feel bad for not helping them meet their goal on the stocking count. So prolly ya’ll will just get a note and it will say your knitted Christmas went to spread joy and blessings to those who are still over seas. : )
