Mommy, can we carve a pumpkin?

The kids have been asking me this since the pumpkin came in on Friday. Finally last night we sat down with 2 excited, anxious, and fighting kids. They didn’t want to do just any ol’ jack o’ lantern. Oh no, it had to be a decorative one, but they couldn’t agree on what it was to be.


I then remembered that I had bought another pumpkin awhile back for my fall decorations. Isaiah ran out and claimed that one. JD cut the tops off for us and then I plucked out Roo’s pumpkins innards as she was not stickin’ her fingers in there.


Then I traced the design on to the pumpkin and JD begins helping her carve out her ghost. I then went and helped Isaiah clean out his and traced his design. Before I knew it something had changed it was JD and me who now sat at the table carving away, while the kids ran and played. So there are not many pictures ‘cause we were busy this year carving : )

Knitting wise I finished my Bea Ellis Headband that mom had got for me. She also got us kits to make hats while I’m in for Christmas, YAY!! I love color work : )

Also, on KH in the charity forum, momwolf posted about collecting 850 stockings for our heroes over seas. She had learned about it and filled us in. They will be stuffed with candy…You can read more about it on the KH link or here on Heart Strings.


Here are my stockings the 2 patterns given were cute but one looked more like a sock…and the other was knit flat. So I sat down and figured this little stocking out and I think it turned out pretty good, pattern soon to follow.


I then decided how about mini mittens? I could do those too since lately I have knitted so many. This is what I got and I think they are pretty cute too. Of course now if the pattern makes any sense written out well time will tell : )

That’s been about it, Isaiah got his report card today and did a fantastic job!! Things with the other boy seem to be quiet this week. They are very excited for tomorrow night when they get to go Trick or Treating. At first I thought Roo didn’t want to go she has seemed nervous this week about it, but tonight she was all wired about going. Hopefully they have a good time : )
