I’m not sure really where to even start. We had a wonderful time in WV and seeing everyone. The kids enjoy going there so much and they got to do a lot of their favorites.
I’ll go ahead and warn ya that this post is prolly gonna be picture heavy with family and some knittin’…The weather was also really nice for the most part had a few rainy spells.

The kids got to go fishing with my dad, Isaiah caught 4 fish and Roo caught 2 (well Isaiah says actually Yogi did lol)

Here is a picture of my dad’s baby birds that were in his blacksmith shop

Here is dad’s roses, I love the coral color

Here is a photo of the kids with their great-grandfather we had lunch with him and then later had a pizza party too.

Here is ol’ Mokey he found mom and dad one day lol, they are trying to fatten him up and he does look better than when they first found him.

Here is the ol’ Farm dog (as dad says) her name is Sadie Mae and I would have this dog spoiled rotten if I could, she likes to give me hugs : )

We also got to knit with Linda one afternoon and she is doing good. Still has some nausea feelings and the cough. She will go to Chemo this Monday and then in 3wks she will start Chemo/Radiation for 5days a week for 7weeks. I really enjoyed knitting with her and hopefully next visit we can again.

Mom and me spent our evenings around the table knitting and I took this one of her working on her Swirl shawl, she is also up on ravelry Lcole.

This is the Memorial wall in Ansted all the bricks have names of our heroes.

The kids also got to swim in the pool at their Mawma’s house and really liked that.

It took it’s toll on Roo and this is how I found her one afternoon : )

On the 4th of July we had a cook out in between the rain showers lol, we finally got to sit out and eat!

Afterwards, we had a campfire the kids love this.

We set off a few fireworks of course in WV you can’t set off the loud and pretty sky ones (or at least not suppose to).

Here is what the smoke looked like coming from the trees, I thought it was so pretty.

I have one friend that I stay in contact with and it doesn’t matter if we speak daily or go 2yrs we never have trouble just clicking back together. I’ve known her since Kindergarten, her name is Stephanie and that is her little boy, Jac.

He is soo cute I tell ya and he fell in love with Roo.

Here is one of us together (Isaiah deserted us lol)

Ok so some knitting news while in WV mom and me dyed our KP blanks that come in the flats now. I CO the Summer of Socks pattern and thought this would be easier to do than 2 skeins, I’m not finding that to be so. I have trouble with tangling, forgetting which needle to use, and then along the edges of the dyed yarn it can be stuck together or tangled, making it annoying to have to stop and fight with it. I’ll prolly just go back to dying regular blanks and knitting one sock at a time.

Pattern: Summer of Socks
Yarn: KP Blank dyed green, pink, purple
Needles: Size 0s
We also worked on our Silly socks and I got mine finished, I had trouble knitting these socks ‘cause of my OCD. Mom kept telling me to just let it be lol. I did get my #s right so I’m happy with that (most are 12 rows) and I flowed my colors and didn’t change them around.

Pattern: Silly Socks
Yarn: Encore DK
Needle: Size 5
We also worked on the Swirl shawl and this was very annoying at first. The first swirl no problem so figured this will be fast and easy. Well it took some figuring on how to get those swirls to join right, how to get yarn different colors, the K3tog changed, and I switched to ML and gave up the dpns : )

Pattern: Swirl Shawl
Yarn: JoJoLand Melody
Needle: Size 6
I also re-started Sydney and this time did the heel like your suppose to, which is working the gusset/heel backwards. I love my short row heels and this wasn’t bad, esp since I didn’t have to pick up sts.

I can also show you the test knit I did in April. I used yarn from my stash so it’s not the best really. I really like the one below (in the pattern link) better and may re-do mine later on.

Pattern: Whitecap SocksYarn: KP blank dyed green and KP palette in white
Needle: 1s

**also the first picture was taking from my grandmother’s porch, sooo pretty!**

Looks like you all had a great time! It's great to spend time with family. Especially if you don't get to see them too often!
It's nice reading your happy hours with your family and "long-time-no-see" friend.

Linda looks good! Glad you had fun, knew you would. Lots of memories. We can't do 'big' fireworks here in NM either, they can't be louder than a pop gun or go higher than 10 feet. love all the pictures.
