On knitting help, I have to say it’s the first forum that is really like a family. You don’t have too much bickering or the other drama that happens on forums. You know someone always is there to help with a knitting question, a snake question, or an emergency.
A few days ago Auburnchick posted this on KH
“Hey all...
Some of "know" Rabbitrescuer...
Yesterday, one of her sons sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns on about 50% of his body. He's headed to a Shriner's hospital for treatment.
Her younger son witnessed the accident. I know she would appreciate prayers for the family.
On behalf of Rabbit...thank you.”
KH went into take care of one of our own mode and with Auburnchick over seeing it the outpour has been amazing. The funds have started to pour in for gift cards and track cards, the Canadian Odd Blanket knitters have donated this very cute blanket, Knittinmitchie is organizing an afghan block drive (crochet granny squares or knit a block that is 8”), and many others are sending items.
I want to get a box together this week with some items for them to use at the hospital. I was thinking like crosswords, coloring books, crayons, paper, maybe some cotton for dishrags, and magazines? I’m also having the kids make up pretty bright get well cards and cards for the younger brother.

Above is my attempt at Granny squares, I had to call mom last night and have her walk me through the first one (red), and then I made the white/blue one. They were both to large, so I started the blue/white one and it’s right on (the one on top). I want to try and make another, as well. My color change isn’t the best but hopefully the next will be better lol.
As for us this week we had camps to go to, Isaiah went to wrestling camp and was his first time trying it out. He came home sooooo excited and pumped, it seems that he did very well and amazed them all lol. I didn’t get to go as I was running back and forth with Roo so hated that no photos were taken.

Roo went to Princess Dance camp and also had a blast!! They made crafts, body glitter, had tea, and learned little dances. This photo is on the last day with the whole class. The top photo was her ready to go on the very first day of camp!

On Friday the boys (Isaiah and Jack) were outside and come a runnin’. There was a snake very close to Yeager, well of course I don’t handle snakes very well so tried to stay calm to keep them calm (ok they were not scared just more like let’s pick it up and sling it everywhere). I took a photo and sent it to JD, Pam, Mom, KH, and the local veterinarian; I also ran and got our n’bor to check it out. Seems everyone agrees that it’s either a Milk/Corn/Rat snake and didn’t have to get a brick put on it. I’ll do better next time (I can’t even stand to look at them on the internet).

We also had visitors come on Friday; they walk through the woods to come visit us. They are usually wet, icky, and tired from their walk so we feed, water, and pet them while we wait for their owners to come and get them. I always get tickled ‘cause it seems to be a surprise they walked all the way over here when we have them a few times a month. This night though the owners didn’t show up so they slept on our porch, we had been looking forward to a good night sleep and not having to hear the alarm on Saturday…but the dogs liked to bark in the middle of the night, Gideon was in and not happy ‘cause of the dogs so he kept waking us up, and then Roo had a nightmare that flies were getting her…so it was a very looong night instead *sigh* : )
As far as knitting goes well I did work on my S.O.S socks while at dance camp and I’m so tired of working on them. I might have started another sock that has me happier : )
I hope you all have a great day of knitting and tomorrow I’ll review two books for ya : )
