A crazy Memorial Day Weekend

Our weekend, well our weekend was nothing like I had planned. We were supposed to go get Whitlee and enjoy the rest of our weekend, take in the Memorial Day parade on Monday. Have a nice cookout, reflect, enjoy the sun, and just enjoy the family. Let’s just say instead it involved a trip to Canton on Saturday and Sunday, a vicious cat/dog fight with JD and Roo in the middle, getting up at 6:30 in the morning to scrub the kitchen down, me being bitten, cold windy day, and JD coming down with an icky bug.

Thankfully, I can look back on the weekend and laugh and know that our hearts were in the right place. Plus, it wasn't dull which our lives are usually never that lol. I still don’t think we have recovered and poor Bella, she may never be the same.

As far as the kids were concerned it was another great weekend, they got to go for Ice Cream on one trip to Canton. They had a pretty nice area for the kids to play, which made it nice.

Isaiah got to spend Sunday with his friend and then on Monday they helped me put the ribbons up and get the outside ready.

They also got to enjoy a cook out (even though Roo wouldn’t touch a grilled hamburger lol). Gideon also enjoyed the outside he kept catching Chipmunks and the kids would “rescue” them. I hope it wasn’t the same chipmunk over and over again lol.

Bella has been going crazy inside but she still has to wait till Saturday. The good thing about where we live the cats can go outside and I don’t have to worry about cars or anything. They just have woods to hunt in. Gideon usually stays out at night and then sleeps the day away inside, while Bella likes being out during the day and back in when it gets spooky.

*sigh* a break in the fighting, doesn't Isaiah looked thrilled? : )

Knitting wise nothing much has happened. I took my sock bag with me on the car trips but just couldn’t make myself CO to the other Berlin sock. I decided then it was time to face the music and frog that thing. I’ve never had a sock ‘cause me such dread. Maybe later on with a different yarn I’ll give it another go. I did work on the CW shawl and I’m up Rnd 133. I want to start Roo a dress and me a tank soon. : )

I want to thank you all for the prayers for Linda. She went back today and got the results of the PET scan,it did show cancer in the lung mass and lymph nodes around it. On Friday, at 8am she will go in for surgery the dr told her that it will be the most painful surgery she has had to date and that he would do his best to keep her comfy. Hopefully the mass and aorta are not attached, that they can remove the mass, lymph nodes, and the lung.

She will be heavily sedated for 3-4 days in the ICU and she will have 2 chest tubes, which one will be removed on the 3rd/4th day and the other when it stops spewing air. Then she will be in the hospital for 10-12 days, they will give her a body a month to gain strength before starting her chemo treatments. Mom said her spirits were good on the phone and she is stopping by to see mom this afternoon.

She is so strong, I would be scared out of my mind. Not Linda though, she is still trying to figure out how to knit with us this summer and just taking it all one day at a time. Please, Keep her in your prayers…Thank you *hugs*

Oh sweetie I'm so sorry to hear this news. But don't fret, just keep positive and make sure she does too. Get her strength up too. Make sure she eats well, and talks about her feelings if she needs to. Be the strength she may need.
Much love and prayers your way!
