Whitlee and Airplanes

This morning we took off to Save a Mom Rescue just outside of Canton. Beside the constant “are we there, yet” the drive was very nice. Roo waited until we got out of the heavy fast food stops and out in nowhere to go into a potty panic. First thought the weeds, but she was not even going to consider that how dare her parents! So we told her to sit tight and hoped the lady at SAM wouldn’t mind Roo making a stop first on the way to see Whitlee. Thankfully, she didn’t which how could she when there is a 4yr old in her yard doing a jitter like a mad child? ; )

The lady with SAM was very nice and helpful; we had also taken her some old towels to use for the dogs. Whitlee is part basset/beagle and just so sweet, she was very cute and just wanted attention. She is on the skinny side which she prolly wasn’t in the best shape to have puppies. They rescued her from a place that had 85 dogs! She was inside the home and also had teeth punctures that are healing back nicely with hair. I figure after the puppies are weaned she will be just fine.

They will wean the 8 puppies from her this week and then she will go to the vet next week, after that she will go into house manner training. They will break her of any bad habits she may have, make sure she is house broken (they think she is as she won’t go in her kennel), gets along with cats, and all that good stuff. Then she will be taken to be spayed and will recover from that. Then if SAM decides we are the right family for Whitlee we may bring her home the end of May (this is if we decide to go this way).

Whitlee isn’t her name, but is the name the SAM gave her. I’m not sure if we would re-name her not. I like Whitlee with Whit for short. : )

After we left there we headed out to find the Air Museum at the Canton Airport. JD had heard about it but had never been. Once we found our way around this is what we seen (not really the type of museum I was expecting). It was closed though till May 1rst.

This is the Sign for the museum

This is where the tours start

Here is some old planes they had behind the gate

If we do go back for Whitlee at the end of May, we will have to try the museum again.

After this stop we were all pretty hungry (the kids had breakfast before we left, parents did not, and we hadn’t stopped for lunch and it was well past noon) so we headed to Dennys and then came back to town for ice cream.

It was a really nice day and really enjoyed our time out. I do feel bad that by the time we got home it was getting chilly and the kids didn’t have much longer to play outside, but they seemed to enjoy the time they had riding their bikes.

I hope you guys have a great day of knitting and if you read all this *hugs* : )
