Battling the sick bug

We have been battling a sick bug here.  Roo become ill on Saturday and went to the Dr. today.  She is now on meds and should be able to return to school tomorrow.  I’ve been battling the headaches and some kinda throat/cough grub and now have a hoarse voice.  So far the guys are staying healthy, hopefully it will stay that way!

Saturday was also the first competition and the girls did awesome! It was so nice to see it all come together, I know I’ve said that about dress rehearsals, but wow! Seeing it at competition is just awesome.

Getting directions before heading out to perform their first number “Grease” at this time Roo was feeling good.

She then began to feel rough and kept saying she was hot, we thought it was being on the stage for so long for awards.  We decided to take her out for a bit to eat and get some medicine for her.  She perked back up and we headed back for the rest of the dances.

Ready to hip hop! “Turn up the Radio” took 1rst Platinum Place and 1rst place over all.

After this dance she crashed and I knew she was sick.  I texted JD from back stage letting him know.

She wanted to do her last dance, but it was rough watching her.  She looked like she could either drop at any minute or throw up! Thankfully, she did neither and made it through the dance, thankfully the minis have short periods on stage.

They won Platinum for “Pep Rally” and 1rst overall!!

I went back stage to get her changed and we encouraged her to leave.  Thank you for those back stage that comforted her and reassured her it was ok…

I texted JD that we were packing up and he came back stage as all the other dances took the stage for awards.  She went to him and crashed.  He carried her out and once in the car she was asleep in a matter of minutes.

Thank you to Carlynda for the text updates and collecting Roo’s ribbons for her!

On Sunday, Roo spent the day in bed watching her movies, her favorite right now is Annie.  Her fever finally broke that evening but I kept her from school on Monday.

She went back to school yesterday but this morning woke up with a bad sounding cough and just felt rough again.  I decided to take her to the Dr and get this out of her system by Saturday, hopefully.

We also made this board for her awards, right now it just has “Grease” hanging on it and she is saying “its not big enough”

I have to brag on Isaiah who spent the whole day with girls basically and never complained.  He took his dsi and caught a t-shirt! He was really worried about his sister and she slept most of the way home on him : D

We also had conferences at the school and I love hearing how our kids are hard workers and doing their best with their school work.

However, I have to say what I really loved hearing on Tuesday was how our kids are very well mannered, kind hearted, treat others equal, great sportsmanship, very encouraging, and well liked by many.  God has blessed us in many ways, but especially with the two of them.

Hopefully we will kick this sick bug to the curb along with winter!  : )
