It's official...

I'm a Ravthlete! My name has been called to the podium.

I finished my hat last night after frogging it Friday night. So I scooted JD off the computer so I could cross the finish line. Then you have to wait for them to check your project and your tags.

I still haven't been called for the Hat Half-pipe but it can sometimes take awhile. Anyways here is my hat and badge for the Nordic Color work.

The scoop
Olympic Reindeer Hat
Needle: US 6
Yarn: Plymouth Galway Worsted in Red/Navy/White

My mods

Ok this is the front of the hat. I charted out the flag and added it to the hat, where it sits is just a plain blue section on the pattern. I know intarsia isn't suppose to be done in the round but I wasn't going to duplicate st so I made it work. Also this is where the brim folds up so I figured the long floats would be protected (just make sure floats are lose)

This is the back of the hat and on the second repeat, instead of a solid blue section again...I just continued the established pattern.

When I rolled the brim up to attach to the row, I worked a purl row.

This is the side of the hat where I worked additional tree patterns. In between each repeat I added a tree. The pattern only has 2 trees (in between the reindeer)... I have 4 trees. I also dropped the tree down 2 rounds and made it 2 rounds taller.

I started the decreases 2 rounds early it is easy to get mixed up once the decreases begin...you gotta keep an idea of what its suppose to look like while decreasing. Some have started the decreases sooner but I like the flop at the top. Although Roo is saying this is her hat now.

Now do I work on the mittens for the goal or a sample knit : )
