Thank you so much Auburnchick and Hilde for the stockings we are now at 875 more to go. We have a KAL on Knitting help, I have also started a group on Ravelry, and here is just a little reminder or what we are doing and asking for.
Today in the mail were 10 more stockings from gmmarton, Thank you soo much!
We are working with the Salvation Army this year to make roughly 1,000 stockings for the children. I say roughly 'cause they accept applications up into October for the Christmas Castle Project. The stockings can be 6-8" and in any color or yarn. You can knit, crochet, or sew them.
We are also asking for the following donations:
Christmas Cards for the kids
Candy
Quart/Gallon Size Baggies
A gift that is under 3.00
Stickers, Markers, etc
We will place the items in a baggie, divide them up by age/gender, and then meet with the kids the first part of December to hand the items out. We are looking to have all donations in the first part of November and no later than Thanksgiving. This way we will have time to stuff and get organized...
