The Bus Driver told me well before 4 they would be home...this is me waiting on the porch.

A bus, YAY they are home. Jump up head toward bottom of driveway as bus drives on by...

LB joins me on the front porch as we wait for the kids

Another bus, this time stay calm and wait to see...drives on by *sigh*

Brutus has now joined me and it is past 4.

Could the third bus hold my kids?

Finally, they are home and talking ninety miles a minute, I missed that today. They both had a wonderful and exciting day. Isaiah has a friend and they played football together, Roo got mad at a boy on the bus but didn't hit him (she is trying to prove she can control her anger), Isaiah won a game, Roo wrote her name and the letter "L", Isaiah is going to watch a movie tomorrow, Roo followed racoon tracks around the school hunting for clues...and so on : )

They were both so hungry they enjoyed some cookies I had made while filling me in on their day.
And now I leave you with a poem the teacher sent home today, like I needed another reason to cry.
We Left You At The Door
by James Singleton
We took you down to school today.
You're just beginning now;
Although this year you're five years old,
You seem so young somehow!
We didn't take you all the way,
For we'd been told before,
"Don't go into his room with him,
Just leave him at the door."
Up to this time we've always gone
Together everywhere,
And we have had a lot of fun
While traveling here and there;
But we well knew before it came,
We're parted more and more.
So many times we will stand outside
And leave you at the door.
You're growing up so very fast
It's hard to keep in step;
The fact of changing years is hard
for parents to accept.
You'll have to walk your path alone
No matter what's in store;
We'll bring you up to life's classroom,
Then leave you at the door.
While you were ours these tender years,
We treasured every day,
Full knowing that the time would come,
When you would go your way;
And though this love will still remain,
Within our heart's deep care,
Our eyes will sting to see you go
And leave us at the door!
That is all for today, maybe. I have a plan for JD though : )

I know this first day was strange...for all of you. You'll ease into a quiet routine and find yourself refreshed and ready to greet them every day.
My kids still come home and talk my ear off every day, and they only have a couple of years of school left. What a joy it is.
Hugs my Friend.
Thank you! *hugs* : )
