Some knitting is finished

This week I finished up the rest of my Christmas knitting, well except for the afghan but that will be given when finished. I’m also debating about going back and making little sweater ornaments like below, and use those as name tags for pkgs.

First up we have Mr. C’s scarf, every year I make something for Martha but haven’t for him. This year I decided to knit him something, he wanted a hat…but with my track record with those, I figured he would be safer with a scarf.

Pattern: Men’s Striped Scarf from the Holiday Knit books
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft

Next up is the little ornaments I made for my dad, since I didn’t get his sweater arm finished/started. The “Y” is his ‘cause the kid’s call him Yogi.

The “T” is for Teddy and is a family joke : ). I did get the wire to make the hanger but now can’t find my needle nose pliers; the Y will have a hanger.

I still have to take the time and felt the twin’s handbags but that shouldn’t take to long, it’s just me going down stairs in the cold basement to do it…that makes me find something else to do : )

Also over Thanksgiving I finally got started on the SnowBird Mittens, I’ve wanted to make this pattern since the preview went up. I’ve always seen it in green/white combo and couldn’t find the right green. I think this is pretty close to what I had imagined.

I also started Roo a sweater, after reading about the project here. The pattern is for free but she is asking that you make a donation to help the MOST Holiday Adopt-a-Family program. You can donate as little as $1.00 on her site. You can find the pattern and info here.

I really also would love to give another hat/beret a try. I have some pretty red yarn that I think would make a nice one, I just gotta figure out which beret I like on ravelry. Fingers crossed this one fits someone, somewhere!

Today was Roo’s parent/family come watch day at Dance class, and her Aunt Debbie came to watch. In the picture above Roo is showing us one of her dance moves lol.

Aunt Debbie told her she had something for her in the car and when we went out she gave her the above quilt. Roo has carried it around with her all day and took it to bed with her, she really loves it!

Also, this afternoon as I was folding clothes I came across some black, felted, slippers?? I didn’t make those?? Oh no wait its JD’s Socks! He has had these socks for prolly 2-3 yrs and I always make sure they are not in the wash…I don’t know how they got by me but they did. I’m going to make him a new pair in the near future. : )

Well I think that is all the news I have for today, I keep saying I’m going to break this up so it’s not one long post at one time…but I still haven’t done that.

Oh and I got Brendajos box today but we can’t open it till our annual Christmas Ornament Exchange. We have been doing these for a few yrs now…and you can’t peek till the day! : )
