Operation 850 update:

On Thursday I took a box of cards with me to knitting at Hilde’s house. Thank you guys for signing them for me!! On Sunday, Hilde called me and said she had some stockings for me, so Monday morning I picked them up. She had made 12 for us, Thank you!!

When I came back home I posted on KH about her 12 and others had posted about their #s and before we knew it that was it. We had reached our 850 count and are now at 888 Stockings finished, YAY!!!

Yesterday we went to the other 2nd grade class and they decorated their cards/envelopes. It went smoother than the first class in terms of us being more organized and knowing how to do it better lol. Isaiah’s class was our test run.

Here they are stuffing some of the stockings as well.

There was also a little boy in the class who’s father is in Iraq so I made him a special stocking (the bigger of the two above). We stuffed it as well and had all the kids sign his father’s card.

Here is the little boy writing a message to his dad, he told Jackie he just knew he would be home for Christmas.

After school we went to Jackie’s and the kids stuffed some more stockings and placed them with cards. We are caught up on the stocking front until I pick up Denise and Bobbie’s on Thursday and we are waiting on some of mom’s to come in the mail.

The cards will be ready to go as well I think we have 3 boxes out. I’ll pick up 2 on Thursday at the LYS and the other box is with Jackie’s daughter. I’m hoping this weekend to pack the box up and get it mailed out on Monday.

We are also placing all the cards in baggies so all Becky (the mom of the chaplain over there) has to do is stuff the stockings she gets in the mail and then drop them in a baggie with a card. We are also including stickers so her son can seal the envelopes after they have all been checked.

I can’t thank you all enough; words don’t even begin to describe the feeling I have. You all came to our aid and helped us with knitting or signing of cards. This Christmas has become very special to me ‘cause of all of you!! Even our kids are seeing this and you can tell they sense it, they get it.

God bless you all and Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! : )
