Country Roads take me home

This past weekend we made a quick trip home, it was the first time I’d been home in Oct in a long time. I couldn’t get over how pretty it was with the leaves changing, and was sad to leave it behind on Sunday.

The reason for the trip was so that I could go to a WVU game with JD and my parents were going to watch Roo and Isaiah for us. On Saturday we got an early start and left Isaiah going hunting with my dad and Roo baking on her new easy bake oven lol.

It was a nice morning and I enjoyed the ride (except for the truck who nearly ran us off the road) it was nice looking at the mountains.

We stopped by a friend of a friend’s house for our tickets and then we hiked our way to the stadium, of course like any road in WV it was up one hill and down another until we made it there.

We found our seats and we watched the football players warm up.

They had the Alumni band there along with the past Mountaineers for the pre-game show.

This lady had 3 batons going at one time!

It was then time for the WVU band to take the field and they did a good job.

Here they are making the state.

Here we have the boys getting ready to come out for the game.

Here they go time to play some football : )

I love my camera and wish you could still tell how well the pictures turned out. We were seated on the upper deck and I just zoomed into the field like I was there.

The Mountaineer was on the other side of the field in the other corner and I got his photo WOOHOO! : )

Have you ever wondered why football games take so long? Well it’s the guy in the red shirt’s fault. He is the commercial guy and some of those commercials were WAY to long : )

I felt kinda bad for the other team when I seen the only orange was this handful.

Here is the new scoreboard showing that we won the game, YAY!

Here is the team meeting for after the game prayer.

Since we won the cheerleaders and Mountaineer joined (again on the other side of the field) for John Denver’s “Country Roads”

Now comes the fun part after walking back to the friend’s house we faced the traffic of getting home.

We decided to take an exit and stop at Dairy Queen, maybe around this corner?

No, but we did find this little Java stop that wasn’t open lol.

Finally we found the local Dairy Queen and got a bite to eat before heading back to moms.

I of course enjoyed the ride back home looking at the pretty mountains being filled with the fall colors. : )

Isaiah didn’t see anything but seemed like he had a fun time with dad, and Roo had a blast baking with mama.

Here is one of mom’s outside decorations, I love the corn holders that dad made, and of course Roo loved the little tin man.

Here is Roo also enjoying the leaves they had started to rake early that afternoon.

On Sunday we took our time and didn’t leave in a hurry, I finished all the knitting to my hobo and mom helped me cut out the material for it. We didn’t get in much knitting and talking this trip, fast trips are always like that, but hopefully in Dec we will have more time.

Here we go starting down Gauley Mountain and heading back to OH.

Around this curve, I think is when Roo declared she wasn’t feeling to well

But by the bottom of the mountain she was fast asleep…

Another shot on the interstate (have I mentioned before I love taking pictures?)

After we got home and got settled in, I started seaming my bag and Roo asked if she could help me. Here she is although she doesn’t look very happy at all lol. : )

I still need to line the inside of my bag and then I’ll post pictures of it. I hope you all have a great day of knitting : )

**Thank you, sweetie for taking me to the game and I loved every minute of it : )**
